Frequently asked questions
Which phones are compatible with App-Elles ?
App-Elles needs the following technical characteristics:
Is App-Elles available in multiple countries?
App-Elles alert technology is operational across the globe. So you can use App-Elles everywhere.
Regarding the help resources present in the application, they are constantly increasing. In 2020 App-Elles lists more than 5,000 structures in more than 13 countries including: France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, the United States, Chile, Algeria, Senegal.
How many trusted contacts can we have ?
Each user can have a maximum of 3 protectors and 3 protectors.
The reason of this limit of 3 is to guarantee you a high-quality support network : protectors ready and willing to assist you.
The important thing is not the number but the seriousness of their commitment by your side.
Is the connected Bracelet essential to send alerts ?
No, the connected bracelet is an additional accessory allowing you to trigger an alert without having to handle your phone. The app does not need the bracelet to work. Several trigger modes are available (without equipment): The alert button on the home page of the application, the On/Off key on the telephone and the audio jack socket.
Can we use the Connected Bracelet without a smartphone ?
No, the bracelet needs to be connected via Bluetooth to a mobile phone. The distance at which the connection is maintained varies depending on the state of obsolescence of the telephone and the quality of the environment (walls, interference signals, ...)
Is the Connected bracelet compatible with iPhone ?
The connected alert bracelet is compatible with iPhone. However, when an alert is triggered from the bracelet, some of our automated actions are subject to specific conditions imposed by Apple, which we consider to be binding on our users.
Indeed, to allow a connected object to automatically activate the microphone of a mobile, IOS (Apple) requires that its dedicated app is already open or running in the background. This is a security measure designed to protect the privacy of users against the misuse and fraudulent use of certain applications.
Therefore, our users must be sure that App-Elles is already running on their iPhone before triggering an alert from the bracelet. Otherwise, the alert will be sent but without sound. We view this risk as a significant reduction in the utility and potential of our solution.
On Android there is no constraint, an alert triggered from a bracelet automatically activates the microphone of the mobile in all circumstances. The service is fully provided.
Under these conditions, we do not prefer to recommend the bracelet with an iPhone as long as this constraint is not lifted. We aim to provide 100% complete and efficient service to all of our users. For now, unfortunately, Apple is unlikely to reverse its stance. We are currently working on finding an alternative solution for iPhone.
