The finding of an artist activist
Diariata N'Diaye is an activist artist involved in the fight against violence against women for more than ten years. It is through its work of sensitization in school and professional environments that it appears the urgency to create a tool of information and prevention simple and accessible to all. "When faced with violence, we must be able to find help, answers and support quickly". Her idea, create a mobile application, resolutely free, bringing together all the resources necessary to come to the aid of the victims, their relatives and other witnesses. "With App-Elles, it's 20 years of awareness campaign that you have in your pocket and a complementary way to alert quickly ."
So in 2015, she founded the NGO Resonantes and invested all her savings in the creation of the first solidarity application for women and girls victims of violence: App-Elles®. The name is speaking, the pun is simple and obvious, an invitation to take action, a reminder to tell the victims that in the face of violence "you're not alone", an application dedicated to the women.
A tool in the making
Precursor on his vision of the means to implement and solutions to explore, history will prove right Diariata and her NGO. The recent media coverage of the Weinstein affair and the MeToo hastag is an example: Violence against women is an omnipresent plague and a real societal challenge, responses and means of action must be found and put in place quickly. App-Elles® exists since 2015 and continues to evolve to contribute. Important and innovative start-ups and private companies have understood this by joining this project as soon as they met the project (Capgemini, iAdvize, WaryMe, Odiwi, Need, Wemoove). Several awards and juries have already praised the innovation and the public utility nature of this application and many media follow with interest each new development.
App-Elles® is a volunteer and philanthropic action created and led by Resonantes since 2015. Thanks to the participation and support of start-ups and private companies engaged with the Resonantes in the fight against violence against girls and women (Capgemini, iAdvize, WaryMe, Odiwi, Need, Wemoove), the App-Elles® application is built from year to year to become the main entry point and the digital tool of reference for access to resources and support for victims and their families.
Such collaboration would not have been possible if these companies did not care about the social impact of innovation. Each of them joined this project with the will to share their know-how and to be put at the service of the human and the global stakes of our society. Behind the App-Elles® project lies the idea of putting technology in the hands of the most fragile, to offer the means and skills needed to respond to an emergency. Without their participation and support, App-Elles® can not claim to achieve its objectives and ambitions.
